The windscreen wiper blade is carried by a rigid support structure (11), which is co-extruded with the cleaning blade (10). Within the structure, are also extruded inserts (15-17), which have different lengths and cross sectional areas. The largest section (S1) of the support, includes the corresponding sections of the inserts. As the cross section reduces, the smaller cross section includes the reduced number of inserts. The inserts are designed to possess a longitudinal flexibility and, at the same time torsional stiffness. Due to the differing lengths of the insert it is possible to design variation in the flexibility along the blade. Within the body of the support structure, are incorporated perforations (20), which are designed for the connecting link for mounting the blade on to the wiper arm.
