FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: prior to be caked, powder is compacted under pressure up to 25 MPa in absence of current and then, when pressure is reduced to 5-10 MPa, pulse alternating sinusoidal current with frequency 45-65 Hz and density 3.2-6.8 A/sq.mm is passed for 10-80 s and then, with density increased to 10.6-15.4 A/sq.mm, for further 5-110 s. Apparatus involved has punches that are simultaneously current supply pathways, refractory material casing reinforced with in-tension band. Between punches and powder being caked, division interlayer composed of graphite powder (60-85 vol.%) and alumina (15-40 vol.%) is available. EFFECT: reduced electric and mechanical power of equipment. |
