PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated cable which has excellent abrasion and heat resistance and moreover does not cause environmental pollution when burned. SOLUTION: When the wire is constituted such that a conductor 1 is covered by an flame retardant composition, the flame retardant composition is made of metal hydroxide of 30-150 parts by weight and a proper quantity of crosslinking agent to a blend polymer of 100 parts by weight with polyolefin and unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative modified polyolefin, and the degree of crosslinkage measured according to JIS-C3005 is made to be 5-30%.
