PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get high tensile strength, high volume resistivity, and excellent oxidation resistance and nitride resistance by making a silicon nitride inorganic fiber of an amorphous body consisting of metallic elements selected from Si, N, O and T, and Zr. SOLUTION: For example, heat treatment or infusibility treatment is applied, by irradiation with ionizing radiation, to polytitanocarbosilane fibers made by fusing and spinning polytitanocarbosilane resin including, for example, Ti as a metallic element. This polytitanocarbosilane fiber made infusible is nitrided in ammonium atmosphere at 500 deg.C or over, and then it is sintered in inert gas atmosphere at, for example, 1,200 deg.C-1,400 deg.C to get a silicon acidic nitride inorganic fiber. A heat-resistant insulated cable can be obtained by weaving this silicon nitride inorganic fibers after sizing to manufacture a tape, and winding this tape-shaped silicon acidic nitride inorganic fibers around the conductor. |
