The support has a reinforcement defined by two lateral opposed walls (14,16) and a base wall (18). The support has two lateral upright mountings (22,26) placed facially against the lateral walls of the reinforcement and an upper horizontal panel (40) which engages against the end edges of the upper sides (24,28) of the lateral upright mountings. The horizontal upper panel has at least two parts (40A,B) slidably mounted with respect to each other to adjust the length of the panel to the width of the reinforcement to be positioned. The two parts of the upper panel can be connected by dovetail joints (52,50) in their opposing surfaces.
