<p>Apparatus for controlling the movement of snails or slugs comprises a first elongate conductor (12, 22, 31) connected to one terminal of a low voltage source (9) and a second elongate conductor (14, 23, 32) connected to the other therminal of the low voltage source. The outer surface of the first conductor lies in a plane which is spaced from the plane which contains the outer surface of the second conductor by a distance of between 0.5mm and 5mm and the spacing between surfaces of the first and second conductors is defined at least in part by an air gap. In one arrangement, the low voltage source comprises a 9 volt direct current battery; in another arrangement the low voltage source comprises a 4.5 volt direct current battery. Any low voltage source may, however, be employed.</p> |
