The in-line connector for joining electrical multicore cables together has the exposed ends of each wire 17 inserted into a metal sleeve element 18. The sleeves are located in axial grooves formed in a guide element 11 produced of insulating material. The centre of the grooves have formed projections 23 that locate against a reduced section 16 on the sleeves. When assembled an insulating sheath of flexible material 13 is rolled over the coupling region.
