Each scoop (2) is secured to the cable (3) by two brackets (6) that both contain top and bottom joints (9,10) extending at right angles to the direction of the conveyor. One of the joints is connected directly to the back of the scoop and the other joint is connected to the back end of an adjacent scoop via a coupling rod (5). The brackets are clipped onto a rope used as a cable, and the back of each scoop is secured to a bracket frame (4). The bottom joint in the bracket is connected directly to the top of the bracket frame. The bottom of the bracket frame is connected to the coupling rod joint (11). The coupling rod extends at approximately 60 degrees to the straight section of the rope and bracket. The rope preferably comprises high-strength e.g. aramid fibres.
