Tape cassette housing for magnetic recording

The cassette housing is constructed as a two separate halves. There are two spools located inside the cassette halves, and each spool has a flange area with teeth on its periphery. The locking device consists of a sliding housing (22) with hollow section into which the lock release pin of the video recorder can engage. The housing has two cam profiles (32,33) on opposite sides of a guide with recess to retain a spring (23) which pushes the housing to the front of the cassette. There are rotatable locking devices (40,41) with pins (42,43) to engage in the gear teeth (18,19) on the reels (12,13), and cam follower pins (44,45) are fitted opposite each cam profile. The locking pins have an elastic section which serves to bias the pins against the gear teeth.
