Disclosed are fuel or lubricant compositions containing polyisobutene amines and containing specifically at least one secondary polyisobutene amine of formula (I) in which R represents a polyisobutene group with 6-45 isobutylene units at least 20 % of which can be replaced with n-butylene units. The quantity of secondary polyisobutene amine must be greater than the quantity of any primary or tertiary polyisobutene amine which may be present.
