Node overload control process for communication network

The process involves a fuzzy traffic control (150) which includes three fuzzy-logic control circuits. These are a fuzzy bandwidth calculator (210), a fuzzy-permission control (220) and a fuzzy-overload control (230). These fuzzy controllers can operate with universal processor or with specialised fuzzy processors. The process also involves using a network resource manager (240), a system parameter calculator (250), a coding rate managing circuit (260) and a transmission rate managing circuit (270). The system parameter calculator measures the traffic load (q), its rate of change (delta q) and the cell loss probability (p1) of each of the queues. These parameters are then fed to the fuzzy-overload controller.
