The system for a door lock (20) is operated by a mechanical slider (34) moving between open and closed positions. The electric servomotor (35) drives the slider via a coupling element (36) which is uncoupled from the slider when the latter reaches on of the end positions. The servomotor drive runs past the end settings due to its inertia, without damaging the slider or the lock mechanism. Electrical switches coupled to the slider connect to the control circuit.
