Preservative composition for cellulosic materials, especially wood

Aqueous dispersion (I) contains (all by weight, based on the total emulsion): (a) 65-80 (preferably 67-75)% water; (b) 1.4-3.3 (preferably 1.6-2.5)% 2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (II), preferably dissolved in propylene glycol; (c) 0.8-2.5 (preferably 1.8-2.2)% of an aqueous paraffin emulsion, preferably 50-60 wt.%; (d) 0.8-5.1 (preferably 3.0-4.5)% ammonium stearate, preferably as a 25-50 wt.% aqueous emulsion; (e) optionally 0.3-0.7 (preferably 0.4-0.5)% cellulose, preferably 'MHB Tylose' (RTM), especially 20,000 yp; (f) optionally 0.005-0.3 (preferably 0.1-0.2)% antifoam; (g) optionally 0.1-1.3 (preferably 0.9-1.2)% of an at least 5C higher monohydric alcohol; and (h) optionally 16-21 (preferably 18-20)% of an aqueous binder resistant to light and UV.
