The heating arrangement uses a heat-carrying liquid circuit (1) which passes through the engine (3) and an auxiliary heating device (12) with variable throughput. The auxiliary heating device has a valve controlled bypass line (8) which opens automatically above a certain liquid counter pressure. In addition to a motor driven circulation device (6), there is an independently powered circulation device (7) for the heat carrying liquid which can be selectively activated and which, like the engine driven circulation device, passes the liquid when in the deactivated state or when the vol. flow exceeds its delivery rate.
