In order to damp high-frequency electromagnetic oscillation modes and resonances, resistance materials of fibre-like structure are applied to an insulating support. The resistance fibres run parallel to one another and to the electrical field component. Their width and their mutual spacing are small relative to the wavelength of the electromagnetic oscillation to be damped.
