Curved conveyor belt used in e.g. parcel freight depots or airports

The motor-driven belt (13) running around guide rolls has beading around its curved outer radius edge which projects lightly over the belt. Non-driven support rolls (30) compensating for stresses in the length and width directions as the belt runs around curves are spaced at regular intervals in the running direction of the belt. The support rolls are mounted on the inside of the outer radius side wall so that they grip against the belt beading. The support rolls can be moved to disengage them from the beading. The side wall (18) is removable from the frame (12) supporting the belt curve (11) and it also has a mechanism for stretching the belt in the length and width directions. This enables the belt to be removed from the guide rolls by pulling it towards the curve centre (16), or mounted by pushing it in the opposite direction, without dismantling the side wall.
