Process for manufacturing an article made of composite material by resin transfer moulding and article obtained thereby

A process for the manufacture of an article made of composite material comprises (i) placing a dry preform (28) in a mould; (ii) injection of resin into the mould (10); (iii) polymerisation of the resin; and (iv) removal of the moulded article. Before the resin is injected, a intumescent glue (32) is placed between the mould (10) and the preform (28), along at least one edge of the article to be made. The mould (10) is then heated to ensure the swelling and polymerisation of the glue, so that at least one edge of the article is made from the glue. Also claimed is an article made of composite material having at least part of the article made of intumescent glue.
