The fuel cell has a gas-tight housing 2 and within this is an anode 5 that extends to an output point 6 and across this fuel gas flows. The gas enters B and passes over a heat exchanger 3 that is of the gas to gas type that has the circulating cathode gas on the other side. The flow of the cathode gas is mixed with the anode exhaust gas in a mixing stage 9. A blower 4 is switched by a catalytic burner 10 and the temperature is held in a defined region.
