<p>A device for detecting abnormality of a turn broach which machines a rotated work (3) by rotating a broach cutter (18) comprising a plurality of unit cutters (18b) connected to one another in the axial direction and having a row of chips (181, 182, ..., 18n) on outer peripheral surface thereof which is a spiral surface. The device comprises a plurality of image pickup means (23) each provided correspondingly to each unit cutter of the broach cutter, focus adjusting means (27) for keeping constant distances between a plurality of chips of the respective unit cutters and the respective image pickup means in rotation of the broach cutter, and abnormality detecting means for detecting abnormality of the chips by performing picture processing of the image of each chip, which is picked up by the image pickup means, and judging the degrees of abrasion and damage.</p> |
