Baffle for Nox and noise reduction

The baffle comprises a heat resistant member formed as a spiral relative to an axis with a set of radially spaced turns. The member has perforations in it providing fluid communication between regions separated by the spaced terms. When the baffle is placed in a heat exchanger opposite a burner, flow made up of a flame containing a mixture of fuel and primary air flows axially into the baffle from the burner drawing secondary air into the baffle which cools the baffle and creates turbulence thereby reducing NOx production and changing heat exchanger harmonic resonance.
