发明名称 REFLECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection liquid crystal display device which is extremely bright and has a uniform and good display ability by using an anisotropic scattering reflection plate in constituting this device. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is constituted by holding a liquid crystal layer 3 between a transparent substrate 1 and transparent substrate 2 which are the transmissible substrates arranged apart a prescribed spacing. Guest-host liquid crystals prepd. by incorporating black dyestuff 3' into a liquid crystal material are used as the liquid crystal layer 3. The anisotropic scattering reflection plate 10 consisting of an anisotropic scattering film 8 and a reflection film 9 is arranged on the outer side of this liquid crystal cell, i.e., the outer side of the transparent substrate 2. The anisotropic scattering reflection film 9 has the characteristic that the film scatters the incident light in the front surface direction of the film and is opaque but that the film allows the transmission of the light above the certain prescribed angle. Then, the easy control of the reflection characteristics of the reflection plate of the reflection type liquid crystal display device is made possible by using such anisotropic scattering reflection film. The reflection type liquid crystal display device which is bright and has the uniform and display ability is obtd.
