PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality without modifying the existing broadcast system by displaying complementary field images synchronously with each other for right and left eye images displayed through interlace scanning. SOLUTION: Right eye and left eye image input devices 1R, 1L are made up of television cameras and installed apart by a distance of human eyes and pick up a same object to provide an output of right eye and left eye images respectively. Right eye and left eye image recording and reproducing devices 2R, 2L are made up of VTRs, and operated synchronously with each other. A synchronizing signal generating circuit 3 generates a synchronizing signal circulated for two fields and the signal is fed to the left eye image recording and reproducing device 2L via a 1 field delay circuit 13. Right eye and left eye image display devices 4R, 4L are projection type projectors and project the right and left eye images reproduced by the right eye and left eye image recording and reproducing devices 2R, 2L to a screen 5. The viewer uses a polarized eyeglass or the like to recognize the image as a stereoscopic image. |
