PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject derivative useful as agents for repelling insects and mites. SOLUTION: This substituted α,ω-aminoalcohol derivative of formula I (X is COR<11> or R<13> ; R<1> is a 1-7C alkyl, a 3-7C alkenyl, etc.; R<2> , R<11> , R<13> are each a 1-6C alkyl, a 2-7C alkenyl; R<3> , R<4> , R<5> , R<6> , R<7> , R<8> are each H, a 1-6C alkyl, etc.,) is obtained by reacting an α,ω-aminoalcohol of formula II with a carboxylic acid derivative of formula III (Y is a halogen, etc.,) suitably n the presence of an acid receptor (e.g. triethylemine, calcium carbonate) suitably in a diluent (e.g. toluene, CH2 Cl2 ) at -40 to 110 deg.C. |
