PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a printing operation by optimally controlling the viscosity and liquid droplet amount of an ink so that the specified quality of a recorded image can be obtained regardless of the type of a material on which data is recorded. SOLUTION: Optimal ink temperatures and the optimal drive voltage of a piezoelectric element per type of a printing medium are recorded in a data table 19, then the corresponding ink temperature to the type of the printing medium set in a material quality entry part 18, is read, and the viscosity of the ink is adjusted by controlling the ink temperature to the ink temperature which is read by a viscosity control part 15 through electric heaters 11, 13. In addition, the drive voltage of an appropriate piezoelectric element is read and is applied by a liquid droplet control part 16 to drive an ink jet head 10 for printing. |
