摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably detect a digital data recorded on a tape even when reproduction is performed at a tape speed that is different from the recording time such as for the time of high speed search etc. by newly providing a relative speed error detector and a transfer rate deviation detector. SOLUTION: A difference of relative speed between a magnetic tape T and magnetic heads 17 and 18 in the track direction in reproducing and in recording is calculated by a relative speed error detector 33. A deviation between a transfer rate of a regenerative signal and a transfer rate of a recording data due to different azimuths is calculated by the transfer rate deviation detector 32, based on a tape speed of the magnetic tape T and azimuths of the magnetic heads 17 and 18 under reproducing operation. An output of the relative speed error detector 33 and an output of the transfer rate deviation detector 32 are added up by a deviation adding circuit 34 to output this as an offset signal for changing a clock signal in frequency to a PLL circuit 26. Consequently, a deviation of the regenerative signal transfer rate from the recording data transfer rate is compensated, and hence deterioration of a data error rate can be suppressed.
