Use, in the preparation of a medicament for use in the prevention or treatment of pain, of (a) a peptide of formula (I): <CHEM> wherein X is H2N-(CH2)4-CH(NH2)-C(=O)- or H2N-C(=NH)-NH-(CH2)3-CH(NH2)-C(=O)-, and Y is a hydroxy group or an amino acid residue, (b) the C-terminal amide thereof, or (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the said peptide or amide; with the proviso that the peptide of formula (I) is not Lys-Pro-Arg, Arg-Pro-Tyr, Arg-Pro or Lys-Pro. d |
