PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head high in ink emitting efficiency. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 2 having a plurality of active parts 2a, a cavity plate 4 forming an ink cavity 3 for emitting ink and a nozzle plate 6 having nozzle orifices 6a emitting ink liquid droplets 5 are provided. The active parts 2a of the piezoelectric element 2 are displaced through the vibration plate 7 between the piezoelectric element 2 and the cavity plate 4 and the ink passage 3b of the ink cavity 3 is pressurized to emit ink liquid droplets 5 through the nozzle orifices 6a of the nozzle plate 6. The length of the active parts 2a is 2-5mm and the change quantity of the cross-sectional area of the ink passage is 18×10<-6> -45×10<-6> mm<2> .
