INDOMETHACIN-BASED EYEWASH FOR IMMEDIATE USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a quickly applicable stabilized indomethacin eye medicine by using the water-insoluble indomethacin and a specific cyclodextrin in a specified molar ratio and setting the pH of the aqueous solution to a prescribed range. SOLUTION: Indomethacin and a 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C hydroxyalkyl etherizedβorα-cyclodextrin are added to an aqueous solution in a molar ratio of at least 10/1 (especially at least 25/1), and the obtained soltuion is controlled to a pH of 4.0-6.0, especially 4.5-5.5. The cyclodextrin is preferably hydroxypropylβ- cyclodextrin (especially having a hydroxypropyl group substitution degree of 0.4). The eye medicine is prepared by dissolving the indomethacin in an alkaline substance aqueous solution in the presence of the above dextrin and subsequently adding an acidic substance to the solution to control the pH of the solution to 4-6.
