PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a developing unit from being continuously rotated in a state where a toner container is not loaded on a developing device, by controlling so that the rotation of the developing unit may be stopped at a point of time when it is judged by a discriminating means that a detachable container does not exist. SOLUTION: The developing unit 40 is rotated by 90 deg. up to every developing position of each developing unit, and it is detected whether or not the toner container is loaded on a toner container unit 45 which is rotated with the developing unit 40. Then, light emitted from each light emitting part is reflected by a filler 302, and whether or not the light is received by the light receiving part is detected by a detecting sensor 303. Based on the detection results, it is discriminated by the discriminating means which color toner container exists, or whether or not the toner container is loaded, and in the case of discriminating that the toner container is not loaded, the rotation of the developing unit 40 is stopped by a control means. |
