PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the icon of an effective key independently of the reproduced images of a video CD. SOLUTION: The digital data are read out of a video CD, and an effective key is discriminated among those operation keys which are operated in an input operation mode based on the playback control data contained in the digital data. Then the image data on the icon of the effective key are generated. At the same time, the image data contained in the digital data read out of the video CD are decoded and demodulated. Then the image of the effective key and the images recorded on the video CD are displayed in every prescribed display area (for example, the image of the effective key and the images of the video CD displayed in the left and right halves of a screen respectively). |
