PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent trackability and softness by a method wherein a joint part with a catheter is provided at both ends of a cylindrical part and a cover layer comprising a soft polymer is provided at least on one side of a base material layer comprising a high strength polymer with a breaking point elongation thereof close to the base material and the thickness of the cylindrical part is below a specified value. SOLUTION: A balloon 1 for a catheter is provided with a cylindrical part 5 and a catheter joint part provided at both ends thereof. The balloon 1 also has a base material layer 2 comprising a high strength polymer and a cover layer 3 comprising a soft polymer with a breaking point elongation close to the high strength polymer while having a softness formed at least on one surface of the base material layer. The thickness of the cylindrical part is below 25μm. The cylindrical part 5 has a uniform outer diameter to expand a constricted part of an intracorporeal lumen such as blood vessel, ureter or bile duct. Tapered parts 6a and 6b are disposed successively at both ends of the cylindrical part and catheter joint parts 7a and 7b are provided following the tapered parts 6a and 6b, respectively. |
