PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high-caloric food producible in a mass and useful as a reservation food such as a rescue food or an emergency food by supplying a mixture containing gelatinized cereals, etc., to a twin-screw food extruder and molding under specific condition. SOLUTION: The objective high-caloric food is produced by mixing (A) 44-55wt.% of gelatinized cereal and/or starch, (B) 10-15wt.% of a sugar such as sucrose, (C) 5-10wt.% of whole milk powder, (D) 0-0.5wt.% of citric acid and (E) 0-5wt.% of an auxiliary additive such as sesame, feeding the obtained mixture to a twin-screw food extruder by a powder feeder, uniformly mixing and stirring the mixture in a barrel heated at 40-80 deg.C while supplying a molten oil and fat from a tank heated at 40-60 deg.C at a rate of 30-40wt.% to the twin- screw food extruder with a pump and continuously extruding the mixture under pressure. |
