DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ATF SYNCHRONOUS TIMING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which effectively adjust the signal characteristic so as to be applicable also to non-compatible formats. SOLUTION: This device is used to adjust the ATF(Auto Track Following) sampling pulse width so as to shorten sampling time externally. An externally generated timing signal T2 controls a switch 42 connected in series to a charge holding capacitor 44 to shorten the sampling time of the ATF sampling pulse width generated by a servo chip such as Hitachi HD 49228FS servo chip. The externally generated control signal T2 opens the switch 42 on the rear part of the ATF sampling pulse 48 and thereby inhibits further charge to the capacitor 44.
