<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording characteristic and to enhance the reproducing sensitivity also by bringing a magnetic gap of a recording and/or reproducing head near to the center of a tape pad. SOLUTION: A recording/reproducing head H1 and an erase head Hb are held side by side on a support member 12. In the recording/reproducing head H1, though a magnetic gap G1 is formed on a joint part between C type core half bodies 23L, 23R and I type core half bodies 25L, 25R, since the I type core half bodies 25L, 25R are provided on the erase head Hb side, the magnetic gap G1 approaches to the center O1 of a shaft 13 and the center O2 of a head pad P, and the one-side abutment of the head pad P hardly occurs, and the deterioration in reproducing sensitivity is suppressed.</p> |
