METHOD AND DEVICE TO FORM ORIENTING FILM OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease in the display performance as much as possible. SOLUTION: First, an orienting film material is applied to form an orienting film on a transparent substrate where a transparent electrode is formed. Then the film thickness of the orienting film is measured. If the measured film thickness is smaller than a specified value, the orienting film material is further applied through an ink-jet nozzle to correct a part where the film thickness of the orienting film is not smaller than a specified thickness.
