PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially prevent the occurrence of deformation and to make it possible to stably insert optical fibers and optical units by placing lubricative tapes longitudinally on slots, winding thermal compression tapes thereon and disposing a sheath thereon. SOLUTION: The lubricative tapes 16 are placed longitudinally on the slots 12 and the heat shrinkable tapes 18 are wound thereon. The sheath 20 is disposed thereon by extrusion coating. While the outside diameter (a) of the slots 12 is set by the optical fibers and the optical units to be inserted, the outside diameter is set at 12 to 36mm. The depth (b) of grooves 14 formed in these slots 12 is set at 2 to 6mm and the width (c) thereof at 2 to 6mm. The grooves 14 are the insertion paths of such cable for leading-in by pneumatic feeding and are so designed that the optical fibers and optical units are fed together with the air into these grooves 14. At this time, the lubricative tapes 16 are placed longitudinally along the grooves and, therefore, the friction of the optical fibers and the optical units in the insertion paths is relieved. |
