Fibre reactive azo dyes of formula (I) are claimed, where D is a residue of diazo component of the benzene- or naphthalene series; K is a coupling component of formula (II); M is H or alkali metal, a = 0 or 1, b = 0 or 1 and the bond marked with * is connected to the azo group; R<1> is H or optionally substituted 1-6C alkyl; R<2> is H or optionally substituted 1-6C alkyl; Y is bonded to the amino residue -NR<1>- or -NR<2>- and is a residue of formula (III); R is H, optionally substituted 1-4C alkyl or optionally substituted phenyl; A is amino, cyanamino, 1-4C alkoxy, phenoxy, the residue of a heterocyclic compound in which the ring contains a N atom and optionally another hetero atom, alkylamino in which the alkyl has 1-4C and may be substituted by substituents selected from sulpho, carboxy, Me, Et and OEt, dialkylamino with 1-4 alkyl residues which may be substituted by substituents selected from sulpho, carboxy, Me, Et and OEt, or a phenylamino group which is optionally substituted in the phenyl residue; c = 0 or 1; G is an optionally substituted phenylene; B is a 1-6C alkylene or ethylene-oxy-ethylene; X is beta -hydroxyethyl, vinyl or ethyl that is substituted in the beta -position by a substituent that can be eliminated by alkali; and Z is bound to the amino residue -NR<1>- or -NR<2>- and is a heterocyclic fibre- reactive residue which is different to Y. |
