摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the servo region and to improve the efficiency of formatting by utilizing the function of high density recording and reproducing of read write, avoiding the entering of track ID information into the servo area and keeping the amount of the ID information entering the servo area to its necessary and minimum amount. SOLUTION: The data surface of a disk medium is divided into a servo area 58 and a data area 60 in a sector unit and a track ID region 62, in which track information is recorded, is provided at the leading position of the area 60 immediately after the region 58. During a track formatting, a formatter circuit 28 writes track information into the area 62 by a writing data modulation circuit 40-1. Moreover, during the writing of the area 60, the circuit 28 reads the data of the area 62 by a reading data demodulation circuit 40-2, detects track information and guarantees a writing track.</p>
