A battery terminal cleaner is an aqueous alcoholic solution of sodium hydrocarbonate with a melting point below that of water. The solution preferably has a boiling point down to about -40 hydrogencarbonate is present in the solution in an amount of up to 3.5 grams per litre. This solution is housed within a manually operated spray bottle so that it can be sprayed directly on the terminals of an automotive type battery for periodic cleaning purposes.
