The present invention relates to a manual-cum-automatic transmission control unit by which a driver can select manual or automatic transmission for gear shift. According to this invention, any clutch is not required in the manual transmission. The inventive unit includes a selection lever (101) with a hook (4) for selective automatic transmission; a shaft (3) extending to right and left to make the hook (4) slide to the right and left; a manual operating part (2) with four grooves (20) for manual gear shift while the lever (101) is in D-range; an interrupt plate (21) provided to both sides of the manual operating part (2)'s grooves (20); positioning holes (22) and positioning balls (23).
