The thermal protection includes the thermal switch (6) inserted in the space (9) between the secondary winding (4) and the core (3) of the transformer. The thermal switch is inserted into the space with the aid of a guide strip (12) made of insulating cardboard. The strip also traverses the space (10) between primary winding (5) and the core, to increase the thermal resistance to the core. The insulating strip has folded edges to leave the space for the secondary winding free of obstacles. The thermal switch is clamped against the secondary winding, making direct contact with it, and set to its nominal temperature value.
