Detection means 41 to 44 detect the carrying state of the paper money at the carrying means 36 and 37. When the detection means 41 to 44 detect the carrying state of a paper money to be inadequate, branch carrying parts G1 to G8 do not carry this paper money to the inspection part 38 but branch-carries the paper money carried by the carrying means 36 and 37 in order to temporarily storing in the output money temporarily storing part (second storing part) 34. Namely, when a paper money in the middle of being carried is judged to be inadequate, this paper money is immediately excluded from a carrying path by a shortest route by way of the branch carrying parts G1 to G8. Consequently jam, etc., is not generated. |
