摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an afterimage unevenness and brightness unevenness while enlarging the pretilt angle of a liquid crystal cell by using a polymer of a specified diamine compd. and tetracarboxylic acid and its deriv. as an org. oriented film. SOLUTION: This composition contains the polymer of an ortho type diamine consisting of a binding group hardly containing a polar group between an aromatic ring and the aromatic ring, the tetracarboxylic acid and its deriv. The ortho type diamine is an aromatic diamine containing a linear binding group preferably. Then the org. oriented film is obtained by dehydrocyclization after applying each precursor, for example poly (amic acid) and poly (amic acid)- imide, etc., on the substrate. In the liquid crystal alignment layer using such a composition, high pretilt angle, charging residual DC and discharge time, the frequency dependence of threshold voltage and the characteristic of voltage retention are improved compatibly. In this way, a liquid crystal display device especially low in generation of the brightness unevenness and the afterimage unevenness of a picture residual and high in display quality is obtained.
