PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the element of a panel forming resistors and increase yield. SOLUTION: Wiring 13a, 13b of plural lines is formed on a back substrate 11, and a display cell 23 and an auxiliary discharge cell 25 are partitioned with a cell partition 21 and formed on the wiring. An electrode layer 17a is individually formed within each display cell on the wiring 13a. Similarly, an electrode layer 17b is individually formed in the auxiliary discharge cell 25 between the display cells 23 on the wiring 13b. The electrode layers 17a, 17b function as a resistor for limiting the value of discharge current, and also function as a discharge electrode. Practically, the surface part of the electrode layer 17a exposed from a window 19a of an overcoat layer 19 covering the electrode layer 17a is used as a discharge anode 20a, and the surface part of the electrode layer 17b exposed from a window 19b of the overcoat layer 19 is used as an auxiliary discharge anode 20b. The wiring 13a, 13b, and the electrode layers 17a, 17b are formed by a sandblast process. |
