PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the converging time by inhibiting update of a tap coefficient different from a direction of tap coefficient convergence so as to extend a locking range for initial equalization. SOLUTION: In an arithmetic value Ek generator deciding tap update of an blind equalizer adopting the successive least square method for an N-tap complex FIR filter, a real number absolute value circuit 102 provides an output of an absolute value of a real part of an equalizer output Zk, a comparator 104 compares a positive real number γ with an output of a real number absolute value circuit 102, a selector 106 selects a 0 value or an output of a subtractor and provides an output of the selected value based on the result of comparison and it is used for the real part of the Ek. An imaginary part is obtained through the same processing as above. Thus, update of a tap coefficient is inhibited in a region of an output of the equalizer where a frequency of tap coefficient update in a direction different from direction of tap coefficient convergence is high. |
