摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost overhead cable with the wind pressure load and the degree of slackness reduced. SOLUTION: An Invar steel strand or the like having a small coefficient of linear expansion is used as tension sharing core wires 5 of an overhead cable, and a groove 3 having a circular arc section is provided at the front surface of adjacent parts 2 of segment element wires 1 consisting of super-heat resisting or special heat resistant aluminum alloy to be twined together on the outermost layer, and a spiral groove having a circular arc section is formed on the outside surface of the overhead cable, and thereby increase in the degree of slackness at the time of high temp. is suppressed, and the exfoliating point is moved to wind downstream on the surface of the overhead cable when wind runs against it and the boundary layer of air stream flowing on the surface passes the groove 3. Thereby the wind pressure load is reduced.</p>
