<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain desired color reproduction without causing color smearing, in the case of superimposing/recording color images. SOLUTION: An LED head 13 with both reading and writing functions and a transfer roller 4 being free to switch the polarity are provided in a final image forming station P4 and resist marks formed on a carrying belt 14 by image forming stations P1-P3 are inversely transferred to the photoreceptor 6 of the final image forming station P4 by the switching of the polarity of the transfer roller 4. The inversely transferred resist marks are read by the LED head 13 with both reading and writing functions and a positional deviation, the quantity of inclination, etc., in the image forming stations P1-P3 with respect to the final image forming station P4 are calculated from the resist marks, to automatically correct the color smearing when the color images are superimposed/recorded.</p> |
