The system for surveilling by using a television turns on the television when a state-changing of surveilled object which is door in the porch and so on is detected after surveillance starting time. The system consists of a revelation unit(10) giving surveillance starting data on the surveillance starting time after the television turns off, a door switch(12) placed on the door and detecting its open/close state, a door open detecting unit(14) detecting its state by the door switch, a logic unit(16) processing a door open detecting signal and a surveillance starting data, a control unit(18) turning on the television when the door open state is detected, and power unit(22) for turning on/off the television.
