SUBSTANCE: method of purifying inert gas containing organic impurities, especially gas (nitrogen) releasing from solid-phase polyester resin polycondensation reactors, includes treating gas with stoichiometric (or somewhat greater) amount of oxygen with regard to impurities present at temperature 250-600 C using platinum or platinum-palladium catalyst on solid porous carrier and gas recycling directly in polycondensation reactor after drying it to remove water formed on oxidation of impurities.
