FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: input shaft of variable-speed drive provides for plane-parallel motion of carrier which holds levers with gear wheels transmitting pulses of rotation to wheel of output shaft. Spring-loaded levers ensure automation of variable-speed drive. Transmission of unidirectional pulses is effected due to geometry of herring-bone gear wheels. Points of teeth are made at single-sides reduction of active surfaces. Contact of teeth is effected in pairs over active surfaces with and without reduction. Profile and spiral angles of teeth are related with friction coefficient on contact surfaces by relationship which ensure unidirectional transmission of torque.
